About Us

Introducing The Indy Far East Magazine

For too long, the Far East side of Indianapolis has languished in a consistent narrative of crime, poverty and a lack of resources. But we know that is not the complete picture of our proud communities. There are plenty of people who live and work on Indy’s Far East side who are totally invested in the communities and who are working every day to bring about progress.

Unfortunately, their stories are seldom told. That is about to change. The Indy Far East digital platform and magazine will shine a focused light on the positive things happening in and around our area. We are collectively motivated to tell the whole story about life in our communities, and not just listen to what others are saying about us. We want to show our residents and the entire city that there are some great things happening on the Far East side of Indianapolis, because there are some great people who live and work here.

Your Story. Everywhere. Print, Social and Digital

The Next Generation Initiative, in collaboration with the MSD of Warren Township is excited to announce the launch of The Indy Far East. The Far East consists of a community-based digital platform, social media outlets and a printed monthly magazine that will highlight the people, organizations and companies making positive contributions to the quality of life in our Far East Indianapolis communities.

The Indy Far East magazine itself will consist of a printed copy that will be distributed throughout the city each month beginning in April of 2022. In addition to the printed version, the online site will provide expanded and timely coverage that will include videos, podcasts and other specially created content. Social media (Facebook, Twitter, InstaGram and LinkedIn) will also be used to get information out as it happens. Each edition will also be the recipient of a comprehensive promotional campaign that will include email and text message marketing.

At a time when magazines are being published to focus on specific communities around Indianapolis, it is important that the Far East side not be left out. The people who live in the community deserve to hear positive things about where they live. That’s exactly what this initiative will achieve. The total focus will be on telling the stories of people doing great things, organizations and companies providing quality services to the residents and information about the events and happenings in the area. Another important aspect of this initiative is the fact that Warren Central High School students from broadcasting, journalism, photography and other areas will be involved in the production and publication process. This will provide these young people with valuable experience to prepare them for their career pursuits.

We hope you see the timeliness and value of the publication and digital content and that you will offer your support to see to it that it becomes another Far East success story.
